After working more than a decade in corporate public relations in the Washington, D.C. area, Lisa Brusio Coster started consulting under her own name in 1997. She is an award winning practitioner, currently working with a variety of clients developing strategic communications plans; writing and editing many types of documents, including feature articles, grant proposals and promotional materials; conducting media relations; and, coordinating and managing events.
Prior to consulting, she was a vice president for a public relations services company that specialized in radio communications. In the early years of her career, she worked as a media coordinator for a mid-sized PR firm and as the director of operations for a video news release company. But she got her start in Baltimore, where she was raised, as a promotions assistant, news writer and disc jockey on several radio stations.
Lisa conducted her graduate work in public communication at American University and her undergraduate studies in broadcast journalism at the University of Maryland. She is the past president of IPRC, and is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America Maryland Chapter and the Columbia Business Exchange. She also does pro bono public relations work for her church, the Howard County Public School System, and other local non-profits.
